Code of Conduct
Our Commitment
Thorpe St Andrew FC Women & Girls is an FA Charter Standard Club, and we are committed to providing a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for everyone involved in our club. This Code of Conduct applies to all players, coaches, volunteers, parents, spectators, and officials associated with the club.
For Players
- Play fairly and within the rules of the game at all times.
- Respect your teammates, opponents, coaches, referees, and spectators.
- Never engage in or tolerate bullying, discrimination, or abuse of any kind.
- Arrive on time for training and matches, and inform your coach if you cannot attend.
- Listen to and follow instructions from coaches and officials.
- Look after and respect club equipment and facilities.
- Support and encourage your teammates – football is a team game.
For Coaches & Volunteers
- Place the safety, well-being, and development of players above all else.
- Lead by example and demonstrate high standards of behaviour and sportsmanship.
- Be patient, positive, and encouraging – treat all players equally regardless of ability.
- Follow FA guidelines, club policies, and safeguarding procedures at all times.
- Respect the decisions of match officials and never criticise them in front of players or spectators.
- Ensure all activities are appropriate for the age, ability, and maturity of the players.
For Parents & Spectators
- Remember that children play football for their enjoyment, not yours – let them play and make mistakes.
- Applaud good play and effort from *both* teams, not just your own.
- Never shout or abuse players, coaches, referees, or other spectators.
- Respect the authority of coaches and officials – they are volunteers giving their time for the benefit of the children.
- Do not enter the field of play or interfere with the game unless invited to do so.
- Set a good example with your behaviour and language at all times.
Zero Tolerance Policy
We have a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination, abuse, bullying, or any behaviour that harms or distresses others. Any breach of this Code of Conduct will be taken seriously and may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or removal from the club.
If you have any concerns or witness behaviour that does not meet these standards, please report it immediately to our Club Safeguarding Officer.
